Our South Orange County cities have low crime rates, award winning schools and community centers that serve children, families and our active seniors. We have a diversity of ethnicity and many, many places of worship.
Speaking of cities; let me tell you a little about seven of my favorite South County cities.
Aliso Viejo is a very young city. Not only are the homes newer but the average age of the residents is under 40 years old. There are homes in every price range from condos to high-end properties. Many of the homes have a view of the hills. This city is not far from the ocean. There is a golf course, many parks and good schools. It is home to Soka University. Close to most of the homes are movies, restaurants, grocery stores and numerous shopping areas. The city is highly rated by its residents.
Laguna Niguel
Centrally located in South Orange County, Laguna Niguel features homes in every price range from condos to elegant estates. There are homes with no views, hills views, lake views and ocean views. Many homes are ocean close. Laguna Niguel includes many small parks and a regional park with a small fishing lake. There is a new, beautifully designed city hall, a large senior center and a YMCA. There are many gated communities. The elementary schools have won awards for academic excellence. The city is close to freeways and two major shopping malls. Laguna Niguel includes the El Niguel Country Club and Golf Course, movies, restaurants, grocery stores and all types of shopping areas. With its low crime rate and many amenities it is a very desirable city to call home.
Laguna Hills
Also centrally located in South Orange County, Laguna Hills features homes in all price ranges from condos to estates. The city is known for the upscale community of Nellie Gail Ranch with spacious homes, large yards, views and equestrian facilities. The views in Laguna Hills are primarily of the rolling hills. Centrally located within the city, is a large community center with facilities and activities for all ages. The city is home to the Laguna Hills Mall and smaller shopping areas. There are movies, restaurants, grocery stores and all types of shopping. Freeway close, Laguna Hills is a desirable place to live.
Mission Viejo
North of Laguna Hills and Laguna Niguel is the city of Mission Viejo. Mission Viejo features homes in every price range from condos to high end properties with views of the hills, parks or the lake. The city is home to the senior citizen community of Casa Del Sol as well as the newer community of Ladara Ranch. City residents enjoy swimming, boating and summer concerts at Lake Mission Viejo, a man-made lake. Mission Viejo is nationally known for their award winning, Olympic-quality, Nadadores swim team. The city includes the Mission Viejo Country Club and Golf Course. Shoppers enjoy the large Mission Viejo Mall as well as many other smaller shopping areas, movies and restaurants. Mission Viejo is a very desirable place to live.
Dana Point
Located adjacent to the Pacific Ocean, Dana Point is a sleepy little town with few tract homes. It is definitely a beach town. Homes range from condos to ocean-view estates. You may find a duplex next to a small old home next to a new or remodeled large home. The views are primarily of the ocean or the surrounding hills. Dana Point includes Dana Point Harbor featuring two marinas, charter boats, sports fishing, whale watching and many restaurants and shops. Dana Point has over 20 parks many with beautiful ocean views. The area also includes the Ocean Institute, Salt Creek Beach Park and Doheny State Beach. The city includes the upscale hotels of the Saint Regis, Laguna Cliff Marriott and the Ritz Carlton. Many people who live in Dana Point would live no where else.
San Juan Capistrano
This quaint little town is the home of the San Juan Capistrano Mission. There are homes in every price range from condos to palatial estates on large lots. There are also many equestrian properties. Residents have views of both the hills and the ocean. In the middle of town, near the Mission is the train depot and the Los Rios District, a small area of unique shops and a tea house. You can hop on the train and travel south along the coast to San Diego or go north to central Orange County. The city includes the upscale gate-guarded community of Marbella with its private country club, golf course and beautiful homes. It is also home to The Hunt Club, a community of custom built homes with large yards and many amenities. The city is freeway accessible and has all types of shopping and restaurants. This small town atmosphere is sought after by many.
San Clemente
This southern most city of the group, San Clemente, gives you the feeling of a small old beach town. Homes are located on and around the ocean, with views of the hills and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. San Clemente features homes in every price range from condos to ocean-view estates. The city is home to the newer communities of Forester Ranch, the Reserve North and South and Talega. All major streets have easy access to and from the freeway. The open space next to many of the homes belongs to the Camp Pendleton Marine base. Besides the downtown specialty shops on Del Mar street, the newer communities have many local restaurants and shopping areas. This small town atmosphere is very desirable to the many San Clemente homeowners.
