As a Realtor, I am licensed to sell Real Estate in the State of California. My area-of-expertise is South Orange County, primarily the cities of Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Hills, Mission Viejo, Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente.
Let me tell you a little about South Orange County. We have rolling hills; many, many parks and the Pacific Ocean. We have beautiful weather; a low crime rate; award winning schools and community centers for children as well as senior citizens. We have a diversity of ethnics groups and places of worship. Would you like to know more about my seven favorite cities?
Aliso Viejo is a very young city. Not only are the homes newer but the average age of the residents is in the mid-thirties. There are homes in every price range from condos to high-end properties. Many of the homes have view of the hills. The city has a golf course, many parks and good schools. It is home to Soka University. The city has movies, restaurants, grocery stores and numerous types of shopping. It is a very desirable city especially for young families.
Laguna Niguel
Centrally located in South County, Laguna Niguel features homes in every price range from condos to elegant estates; homes with no views, hills views and ocean views. Many homes are ocean close. Laguna Niguel includes small parks and a regional park with a small fishing lake. There is a senior center and a YMCA facility. There are many gated communities. The elementary schools have won awards for academic excellence. The city is close to freeways and malls. It includes a private country club and golf course, movies, restaurants, grocery stores and all types of shopping. It is a very desirable city to live in.
Laguna Hills

Also centrally located in South County, Laguna Hills features homes in every price range from condos to elegant estates. The city is know for the upscale community of Nellie Gail Ranch with spacious homes, large yards and equestrian facilities. The views in Laguna Hills are primarily of the hills. There is a new, large community center with facilities and activities for all ages. The city includes the Laguna Hills mall, movies, restaurants, grocery stores and all types of shopping. It also is a great city to live in.
Mission Viejo
North of Laguna Hills and Laguna Niguel is the city of Mission Viejo. Mission Viejo features homes in every price range from condos to elegant estates. It includes the senior citizen community of Casa Del Sol as well as the new community of Ladara Ranch. The city includes Lake Mission Viejo. This is a man-made lake enjoyed by most citizens living in Mission Viejo. The lake includes swimming and summer concerts. For many years, Mission Viejo has been known for it's outstanding swimmers. It is a diverse city of young and old. The views from the homes are primarily of the hills or the lake. The city includes a private country club, golf course, the Mission Viejo Mall, movies, restaurants, grocery stores and all types of shopping. It is also a desirable city to live in.
Dana Point
Located on or near the Pacific Ocean, Dana Point is a sleepy little town with far less established tracts than the previously mentioned cities. It is definitely a beach town. Homes range from condos to ocean-view estates. You may find a duplex next to a small old home next to a remodeled or new large home. The views are primarily of the ocean or hills. Dana Point includes Dana Point Harbor featuring beaches, boat docks, fishing facilities, restaurants and shops. The city also includes the upscale hotels of the St. Regis, Ritz Carlton and the Laguna Cliff Marriott. Many people who live in Dana Point would live no where else.
San Juan Capistrano
This quaint little town is the home of the San Juan Capistrano Mission. There are homes in every price range from condos to beautiful estates. There are also many equestrian properties. You have views of both the hills and the ocean. In the middle of town, in addition to the Mission, is the train depot. You can hop on the train and travel south along the coast to San Diego or go north to central Orange County. The city includes the upscale gate-guarded community of Marbella with it's private county club, golf course and beautiful homes. As with the rest of the cities, it is accessible to the freeway and has all types of shopping and restaurants. This small town appeal is sought after by many.
San Clemente
The southern most city of the group, San Clemente gives you the feeling of a small beach town. Located on and around the ocean, with views of the hills, slopes and especially the Pacific Ocean, San Clemente features homes in every price range from condos to ocean-view estates. It is home to the newer communities of Forester Ranch, Talega and the Reserve. The major streets have easy access to and from the freeway. There are the usual restaurants, stores and shops or you can stroll down Del Mar in downtown San Clemente and visit the speciality shops or eat on the pier. This small town feeling is very desirable to many homeowners. |
